Premiere Snapshot
Little Hearts arrived with a fair amount of buzz, thanks to
the active promotions by the lead cast on social media. Their previous online
presence and the paid premieres across Telugu states helped the film gain
attention, especially among the youth. Expectations were decent before release.
Plot in a nutshell
Set in 2015, the story follows Akhil (Mouli) and Katyayani (Shivani Nagaram). They are two youngsters who are not serious about studies and fail to meet their parents' expectations in education. Their parents enroll them in a coaching institute, hoping to set things right. What starts as a simple acquaintance slowly turns into love. As they get closer, they discover a few truths about each other that change their bond. How does their relationship shape up? And when their love comes to light, do their parents accept it or stand against it?Performances to Remember
Mouli, known to many through reels and the 90’s web series,
makes a decent debut with Little Hearts. His comedy timing is a big plus,
especially in the second half. Shivani Nagaram, after her role in Ambajipet
Marriage Band, fits well into this character. She not only looks perfect but
also handles both fun and emotional moments convincingly.
Jai Krishna, who appears alongside Mouli, is another
highlight. His solid comedy timing adds a lot to the lighter moments. Senior
actor Rajiv Kanakala does well as a father who is deeply invested in his son’s
education. Anita Chaudhary, and Satya Krishnan also play their parts
effectively.
Moments to Watch For
The film delivers some good laughs, especially in the first
half and more so in the second. There are also a few
light-hearted comedy moments that give a feel of old-school humor without
dragging too much.
Where It Fails
The main drawback of Little Hearts is its weak and familiar
storyline. It relies heavily on nostalgia but fails to bring anything new to
the table. The simple plot is stretched with fun scenes, which may not satisfy
viewers looking for freshness.
Some comedy sequences, while enjoyable at first, feel repetitive and even irritating after a point. This creates minor lags throughout the film.
Predictability is another factor that works against it. There are hardly any twists or strong emotional moments. Since the movie focuses more on comedy than depth, those expecting family emotions will not find much here.
Verdict and Rewatch Value
Little Hearts works as a time-pass entertainer mainly
because of its comedy. Mouli’s debut is decent, and his pairing with Shivani
Nagaram has some fun moments. The movie is aimed more at the youth, especially
those who enjoy reels-style humor.
There isn’t much logic or strong emotion here, so
expectations should be kept low. Watch it if you just want a light, fun film
for a one-time watch. Rewatch value is quite low.
