Prabhas Film in Trouble: Court Fight Delays The Raja Saab

Prabhas fans may have to wait much longer to see “The Raja Saab.” The movie is stuck in a legal fight between its producer People Media Factory (PMF) and investor Ivy Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

This is Ivy Entertainment’s first time working on a Prabhas film, and things have gone sour quickly. Ivy had agreed to invest Rs 225 crore in the film and paid Rs 218 crore to PMF. Later, Ivy wanted to cancel the deal, saying they had reasons to doubt the project. PMF refused, saying they had already spent more than Ivy’s money and were continuing production.

This led to legal notices from both sides. Now, two cases are pending in the Delhi High Court. In the last hearing, PMF told the court they are ready to return Ivy’s money with interest before the film’s release, but only if Ivy gives up all rights to the movie. The court has asked Ivy to give a counter-proposal and told both sides to try settling the issue.

The film has already faced several delays. It was first expected in April 2025, then pushed to December 2025, and now the target is Sankranthi 2026. Such long and public disputes are a first for a Prabhas film.

Industry talk is that Ivy doesn’t have faith in how the project is being handled. This is the risk when India’s biggest star chooses to work on smaller, experimental films in between blockbusters. In such cases, the makers must have strong planning and clear communication. If not, both investor confidence and fan excitement suffer.

“The Raja Saab” is directed by Maruthi and stars Malavika Mohanan, Sanjay Dutt, and Nidhhi Agerwal. It’s said to be a big-budget horror-comedy with heavy VFX work. But for now, all of that takes a back seat until the court battle ends.

Fans will have to wait and watch whether the movie hits screens on time or gets stuck in more delays. One thing is clear – this legal trouble has already cast a big shadow over Prabhas’s next outing.
